Sabbath Days

In Genesis 2, we read that when God finished all His wonderful creating, He rested from His work and blessed the seventh day as holy. He saw the beauty and goodness of all He had made, and delighted in it. This was the first Sabbath!
As we grow as healthy and faithful people, we want to build a rhythm of holy work & holy rest. It takes a village to keep our farm going, and we are grateful for all the holy labor that goes into our land. At the same time, we want our village to be healthy and flourishing with well-rested folk. As a community, we participate together in work projects on Umuganda Days, and we participate in rest together on community Sabbath days.
Sabbath is a day to rest, worship, and delight.
A couple of times a year, we invite our community to come rest with us on a Sabbath day. This is a morning to slow down and delight in God with activities like prayer, gentle gardening, reading, and art. We have a short time of morning prayer together before dispersing for a few hours of solitude, and we end our time gathered around the table together for a community meal.
Our vision for this day is that we would receive God's invitation to come, rest, and be saturated by His presence. Read more about the gift of Sabbath and join us for one of our community Sabbath days!
